POCAHONTAS, Mo. -- June Edith Hope, 92, of Pocahontas died Sunday, May 8, 2011, at The Lutheran Home in Cape Girardeau.
She was born June 14, 1918, in Seventy-Six, Mo. to William Nellis and Carrie Edith Smith Barber. She was married to Robert J. Hope on Feb. 21, 1946 at Apple Creek Presbyterian Church of Pocahontas. He died March 13, 2002.
She worked as a folder for International Shoe in Jackson for five years, then was a nurse's aid for 24 years with Southeast Hospital in Cape Girardeau, retiring in 1987.
June was a member of Brazeau Presbyterian Church.
She is survived by three sons, James R. (Paula) Hope of Jackson, Robert "Junior" Hope and Gary (Stacey) Hope, both of Pocahontas; a daughter, Barbara (Rick) Taylor of Benton, Mo.; a sister, Hope Revelle of Arnold, Mo.; nine grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband Robert; and two sisters, Myrl Dreyer and Zoe Amy Hoehn.
Visitation will be held from 4 to 8 p.m. today at Cracraft-Miller Funeral Home in Jackson and from 1 to 2 p.m. Tuesday at Apple Creek Presbyterian Church in Pocahontas.
Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday at the church, with the Dr. Grant F.C. Gillard officiating.
Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
