Doris June Collier, 61, of Jackson passed away Tuesday, May 31, 2016, at Saint Francis Medical Center in Cape Girardeau. June had been fighting cancer since September 2015.

She was born June 27, 1954, in Anna, Illinois, to Ernest M. and Geraldine King Lunsford.

June attended Jackson High School. She worked at the Kroger Egg Plant, the hosiery mill in Jackson and Cape West Laundry. In recent years she enjoyed being a homemaker. She was of the Baptist faith.

Loving survivors include her husband, Leanis Collier of Jackson; a son, Bradley (Mindy) Ruppel and children of Scott City; four stepchildren, Chad Collier of Jackson, Aaron (Katie) Collier of Cape Girardeau, Cory (Stephanie) Collier of Tampa, Florida, and Angela (Donny) Oakley of Little Rock, Arkansas; six stepgrandchildren; five siblings, Nelson (the late Gracie) King, Brenda (the late Gary) Sides, Kathryn "Sue" (Mike) Stinson, Ricky (Judy) Lunsford and Debra (the late Wes) Kinder, all of Jackson; four stepsiblings, David E. (Annette) Laramore and Michael T. Laramore, both of Red Bud, Illinois, Dixie (Bernie) Clayton of O'Fallon, Missouri, and Joyce Ann (Jim) Hundley of Waterloo, Illinois; and several nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by two brothers, Jerry and Toney Lunsford; her stepfather, Edward "Dick" Laramore; and a nephew, Brian Sides.

Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. today at McCombs Funeral Home in Jackson.

The funeral will be at 11 a.m. Friday at the funeral home, with the Rev. Nathan Eikenberry officiating. Burial will be at Pleasant Hill Cemetery in Fruitland.

For those choosing to make a memorial donation, the family suggests Pleasant Hill Cemetery or Millersville Baptist Church.
