MOUND CITY, Ill. -- Julia M. Schmaeng, 94, of Mound City died Thursday, March 31, 2005, at St. Joseph Health Center in St. Charles, Mo.
She was born Nov. 18, 1910, in Mound City, daughter of Andrew and May Sedwell DeVore. She married Albert Schmaeng, who died in 1978.
Schmaeng was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church in Mound City and its sodality, Mound City Woman's Club, and Cairo VFW Auxiliary.

Survivors include two daughters, Mary Willis of St. Charles, Margaret Williams of Rolla, Mo.; nine grandchildren; and 17 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by a son.
Friends may call at Barkett Funeral Home in Mound City from 5 to 8 p.m. Friday. The rosary will be recited at 7:30.
Funeral Mass will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at St. Mary's Church, with Monsignor Bill McGhee officiating. Burial will be in St. Mary's Cemetery at Mounds, Ill.
