JACKSON -- Julia Millikan McGinty, 87, of Jackson died Sunday, Jan. 12, 1997, at St. Francis Medical Center.
She was born Dec. 19, 1909, in Delta, daughter of Edward and Altha Mae Hitt. She married Jess Millikan on May 30, 1936, in St. Louis. He died in 1975. She married Dr. H.H. McGinty in July 1981 in Cape Girardeau, and he died Jan. 3, 1990.
She worked as a bookkeeper for nearly 50 years for the former Millikan Motor Co. in Cape Girardeau, which she owned and operated with her first husband. She was also a member of First Baptist Church in Cape Girardeau.
She is survived by a son, Homer Millikan of Sedgewickville; a stepdaughter, Kathryn Hill of Cairo, Ill.; a sister, Ranada White of Chaffee; three grandchildren; three step-grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. today at Ford and Sons Mount Auburn Funeral Home. Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday at the funeral home, with the Rev. S.S. Borum officiating. Burial will follow in Memorial Park Cemetery.
