Judy Kay McDowell, 65, of Cape Girardeau died Friday, Aug. 29, 2008, in an automobile accident near Evansville, Ind.
She was born Dec. 7, 1942, in Cape Girardeau, daughter of Lester and Ethel Maevers Hengst. She and David S. McDowell were married Jan. 7, 1961, in Cape Girardeau.
McDowell was a 1960 graduate of Central High School. She was employed at Procter & Gamble 22 years, retiring in 1999. She was a member of the Church of Christ in Jackson.
Survivors include her husband; three sons, Timothy McDowell of St. Louis, Terry McDowell of Cape Girardeau, Tom McDowell of Jackson; her mother, Ethel Maevers of Cape Girardeau; a brother, Jack Hengst of Cape Girardeau; a stepsister, Lois Maevers of Cape Girardeau; two stepbrothers, Kenneth "Butch" Maevers of Cape Girardeau, Marvin "Jake" Maevers of California; five grandchildren; and two stepgrandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her father.
Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. Friday at Ford and Sons Mount Auburn Funeral Home.
The funeral will be at 1:30 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home, with the Rev. Brian McCallister officiating. Burial will be in Cape County Memorial Park.
