BELLEVILLE, Ill. -- Judy Marshall Fischer passed quietly Tuesday, March 20, 2018, in her home.
Born July 14, 1953, in Cape Girardeau, she was the daughter of Lloyd and Ethel Marshall of Patton, Missouri. She married James Fischer in 1974.
She received a certificate of baptism and pre-preparatory membership in Reagan Chapel Methodist Church April 11, 1954, and she was formerly active in Reagan Chapel Methodist Youth Fellowship (MYF).
Mrs. Fischer was a graduate of East Alton-Wood River High School and attended Lewis and Clark College in Godfrey, Illinois. Proud leader of a Brownie and a Girl Scout troop and youth soccer coach, she worked at various Belleville area schools in food service management and prior to her 2012 retirement proudly sacrificed 20 years in the transportation of students with disabilities.
Mrs. Fischer is survived by her husband and their beloved daughter, Kari Fischer and son-in-law Patrick Schmidt of Granite City, Illinois. Also surviving are her mother, Ethel L. Mungle Marshall; a brother, Jerry Marshall; and uncles, aunts, nieces, nephews and numerous cousins.
She was preceded in death by her father, Lloyd Marshall; grandparents, Walter and Jettie Seabaught Mungle and Pearl "Grit" and Lillie Probst Marshall; mother-in-law, Evelyn Fischer Mundy Heien; aunt, Janet Mungle Schaffer; uncles Carl Welker, Ed Mungle and Delbert Fadler; nieces; and cousins.
Visitation will be from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday at Liley Funeral Home in Patton.
Funeral will follow at 2 p.m. at the funeral home, with Pastor Randy Shrum officiating. Interment will take place in Patton Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorials be sent in Judy's name to Unity Hospice, Collinsville, Illinois.
