Judith Louise Hopkins, 66, of Bellevue, Wash., formerly of Cape Girardeau, died Tuesday, May 6, 2008, at her home, after a battle with cancer.
She was born Aug. 1, 1941, in Bonne Terre, Mo., daughter of William L. and Leatha Drury Berry. She and Joseph V. Hopkins were married Sept. 5, 1964, at St. Mary's Cathedral in Cape Girardeau.
Mrs. Hopkins was a graduate of the former Cape Catholic High School, now Notre Dame Regional High School. She also attended Southeast Missouri State University.
She worked as a dental assistant before her marriage, and then as a secretary while her husband was in graduate school.
Mrs. Hopkins was a member of St. Louise Church in Bellevue.
Survivors include her husband; a brother, Bill (Roberta) Berry of New Orleans and Colorado; and a sister, Janice (Bob) Shirley of Cape Girardeau.
She was preceded in death by her parents.
Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at Ford and Sons Mount Auburn Funeral Home. Parish prayers will be at 7.
Funeral Mass will be at 1:30 p.m. Wednesday at St. Mary's Cathedral, with the Rev. Tom Kiefer officiating. Burial will follow at Cape County Memorial Park.
