Judith Groves, 73, of Cape Girardeau passed away Thursday, Sept. 27, 2018, at Southeast Hospital.
She was born Nov. 12, 1944, in Cape Girardeau, the daughter of the late Loftis and Alma McClain Evans. She and Richard Groves were married March 27, 2003, in Cape Girardeau.
Judith graduated from Cape Girardeau Central High School and worked for a time at the Popp's A&W.
She loved her family and looked after the birds in her neighborhood with several bird feeders and a collection of bird houses.
Loving survivors include her husband, Richard Groves; a son, Timothy (Heather) Cutright of Cape Girardeau; a daughter, Tamie Hays, and fiance Kevin Buchheit of Perryville, Missouri; two stepsons, Ryan (Kala) Groves and Kevin Groves, both of Cape Girardeau; two brothers, Floyd and James Evans; and sisters, Shirley Slinkard, Loretta Schwettman, Melissa Huey and Barbara Fiehler. Also surviving are grandchildren, Cambry and Camden Pierce, Carley Ellis, Stephanie Ray, Courtney and Catlyn Hays; stepgrandchildren, Reiss, Ethan and Owen Groves; and great-grandchildren, Cedar Halbert, Mayson, Cylas and Avri (Judyth) Wilson.
She was preceded in death by a sister, Betty Evans.
Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. Monday at McCombs Funeral Home in Cape Girardeau.
Funeral will be at 1 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home, with the Rev. Ed Rothenberger officiating. Interment will follow in Fairmount Cemetery in Cape Girardeau.
