JUDGE DON ELROD

Judge Don U. Elrod, 59, of Fredericktown died Tuesday, Dec. 22, 1998, at his home. He was born Dec. 26, 1938, in Cape Girardeau, son of Dr. Dennis and Loise Elrod. He and Rita Simpson were married June 9, 1984. Elrod was a judge in the 24th Judicial Circuit. Judge Don U. Elrod, 59, of Fredericktown died Tuesday, Dec. 22, 1998, at his home.

He was born Dec. 26, 1938, in Cape Girardeau, son of Dr. Dennis and Loise Elrod. He and Rita Simpson were married June 9, 1984.

Elrod was a judge in the 24th Judicial Circuit. He was a member of Missouri Bar Association, American Bar Association, Eagles Aerie, Elks Lodge, and Shrine Club.

Survivors include his wife; a son, James Simpson of Park Hills; a daughter, Jennifer Thornton of Ironton; his mother of Cape Girardeau; a brother, Dennis Elrod Jr. of Alaska; and two grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his father.

Friends may call at Follis-Sonderman Funeral Home in Fredericktown from 10 a.m. to noon today.

Funeral will be at 1 p.m. Saturday at Meadow Heights Baptist Church, with the Rev. Jim DeSpain officiating. Burial will be private.
