Juanita Swift

Juanita Fay Swift, 56, of Jackson died Tuesday, July 2, 2019, at her home.

She was born Dec. 14, 1962, in Medina, Ohio, to Donald Glen and Barbara Ludene Black Cates.

She and Shawn Swift were married Aug. 25, 1984, at Cape Girardeau.

She was a multi-media artist and was a member of the Southeast Missouri Art Guild. She retired from Carpenters Local 1770. Juanita was an avid game player and lifelong seamstress, and loved spending time with her family.

Survivors include her husband; three sons, Glenn (Rebecca) Swift of Scott City, Forrest (Sarah) Swift of Chaffee, Missouri, and Dale Swift of Jackson; three sisters, Ronni Anderson of Festus, Missouri; Rene (Patrick) Campbell of Ironton, Missouri; and Lisa (Faouzi) Kasmaouy of Boston, Massachusetts; brother, Lennie (Rene) Dixon of Albuquerque, New Mexico; brother-in-law, Bob Channell of Imperial, Missouri; sister-in-law, Debbie Cates of Groton, Connecticut; and four grandchildren; Taylor, Logan, Seamus and Axton.

She was preceded in death by her parents; brother, Donald Jay Cates, and sister, Donna Kay Channell.

Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. Saturday at Ford and Sons Funeral Home in Jackson.

Graveside service will be at 1 p.m. Sunday at Whites Mill Cemetery near Ellsinore, Missouri.
