Juanita Pauline Curtis Smith, 78, of Russellville, Arkansas, passed away Monday, June 8, 2015, at Arkansas Hospice River Valley Home in Russellville. The daughter of Leo Curtis and Newell M. Juanita Pauline Curtis Smith, 78, of Russellville, Arkansas, passed away Monday, June 8, 2015, at Arkansas Hospice River Valley Home in Russellville.

The daughter of Leo Curtis and Newell M. Michelsen Curtis, she was born March 18, 1937, in Hagarville, Arkansas. Juanita married Charles Smith on Dec. 27, 1954, in Holly Springs, Mississippi.

She was a member of the DAR and the Mayflower Society. Juanita attended First United Methodist Church of Russellville. She enjoyed genealogy.

Left to cherish her memory, Charles Smith, husband of 61 years; two children, Michael Smith and wife Ana of Russellville and Terri Smith Beck of Dover, Arkansas; six grandchildren, Michelle Beck of Little Rock, Arkansas, Matt Smith of New York, Tyler Beck of Dover, Alex Smith of Fayetteville, Arkansas, Brittany Smith of Russellville and Morgan Beck of Dover; two sisters, Cleda Curtis-Neal of Oran, Missouri, and Frieda Dewalsche of Port Byron, Illinois; a brother, Clarence Curtis of Oran; and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; a brother, Boyd Curtis; a sister-in-law, Mary Ann Curtis; nephews, Derek Curtis and Ronnie Curtis; and a niece, Darlene Curtis-Cathy.

The funeral service was June 10 at Humphrey Funeral Service in Russellville. Gayle Brooks officiated.
