TAMMS, Ill. -- Funeral for Juanita Louise Mowery of Tamms will be held at 1:30 p.m. Sunday at Elco Pentecostal Church in Elco. The Revs. Johnnie B. Gibson and Carl Hester will officiate. Burial will be in St. John's Cemetery near Dongola.
Friends may call at Jones Funeral Home in Tamms from 5-8 p.m. Saturday, and Sunday after 12:30 at the church.
Mowery, 79, died Wednesday, July 5, 2000, at her home.
She was born April 8, 1921, at Elco, the daughter of James Monroe Dickerson and Marie (Niece) Dickerson. She married Vernon Leo Mowery. He preceded her in death on June 15, 1976.
She was a homemaker and member of the Elco Pentecostal Church.
She is survived by three daughters, Dorothy Brathoud of Sacramento, Calif., Barbara Sue Ruiz of Las Vegas, Nev., and Terri Mayberry of Dongola; five sons, Richard Mowery of New Albany, Ind., Kenneth Mowery of Salinas, Calif., Robert Mowery of San Jose, Calif., and Lee and Jerry Mowery, both of Tamms; two brothers, Larry Dickerson of Elco and Lester Dickerson of Lick Creek; 26 grandchildren and 21 great-grandchildren.
She also was preceded in death by her parents and two sisters.
