EAST PRAIRIE -- J.R. Terry, 65, of East Prairie died Thursday, Nov. 7, 1996, at the Missouri Delta Medical Center in Sikeston.

He was born July 23, 1931, in Dixie, Ark., son of the late Jodie and Susie Belle Holmes Robins. He had lived and worked as a carpenter in Mississippi County most of his life. He was a sergeant in the Marines during the Korean War.

He married Gladys Burney on June 15, 1951, in Union City, Tenn. She survives. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.

Friends may call after 5 p.m. today at the Shelby Funeral Home in East Prairie. Funeral services will be 1:30 p.m. Saturday in the Shelby Chapel, with Burl Britt officiating. Burial will follow in the Dogwood Cemetery near East Prairie. Military graveside services will be conducted by the Brown-Twitty American Legion Post 595.
