McCLURE, Ill. -- J.R. Brazel, 75, of McClure, died Wednesday, Feb. 1, 1995, at St. Francis Medical Center in Cape Girardeau, Mo.
He was born Aug. 10, 1919, in Scott County, Mo., son of Richard and Lilly Brazel. He and Carmen French were married Dec. 27, 1937.
Brazel was a landowner and farmer in Scott County and in the Karnak area, retiring in 1978. He was a member of Karnak Baptist Church, Masonic Lodge 660 of Grand Chain, and was a Shriner and member of Scottish Rite organizations in St. Louis.
Survivors include his wife; two sons, Jimmy Brazel of Cape Girardeau, Larry Brazel of Charleston, Mo.; two daughters, Pam Ulen of Ullin, Patsy Holland of Sikeston, Mo.; 12 grandchildren, and four great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by three brothers and a sister.
Friends may call at McMikle Funeral Home in Charleston after 5 p.m. today.
Funeral service will be at 1 p.m. Friday at the funeral home, with the Rev. Raymond Oxford officiating. Burial will be in IOOF Cemetery at Charleston.
