JOYCE VALENTINE CHILDERS

SIKESTON -- Joyce Valentine Childers, 77, of Sikeston died Friday, Aug. 23, 1991 at the Missouri Delta Medical Center in Sikeston.

She was born Feb. 14, 1914 to Ermie Lois and Attia Irene Marshall Collins. She lived in Mississippi County most of her life. She attended the Wolf Island Baptist Church.

On Sept. 8, 1927, she married Eddie Leon Childers. He survives.

Other survivors include: six sons, Bill, Paul, Wayne, and Tim Childers, all of Sikeston; Jerry Childers of Chaffee, and Michael Childers of Austin, Texas; three daughters, Betty Edsall, Mary Hamilton and Sue Husk, all of Sikeston; 34 grandchildren, and 40 great grandchildren.

Friends may call after 2 p.m. today at the Shelby Funeral Home in East Prairie, Mo.

Funeral services will be conducted Monday at 2 p.m. in the Shelby Funeral Chapel with Brother Herbert Rowland of Winn, Ark. officiating. Burial will follow in the I.O.O.F. Cemetery in Charleston, Mo.

She was preceded in death by two daughters, one grandson, and two brothers.
