DEXTER -- Joyce Eve Shipman, 90, of Dexter died Monday, March 3, 1997, at her home.
She was born Jan. 20, 1907, near Dexter, daughter of Samuel Harrison and Jane Skelton McClard. She and Herbert Shipman were married Dec. 11, 1926. He died Oct. 4, 1991.
Shipman was a member of Mt. Gilead General Baptist Church. She was also a member of Bloomfield Rebekah Lodge and served as chaplain many years.
Survivors include three daughters, Alene Matthews of Cape Girardeau, Nadine McConnell of Fayetteville, Ark., Marjorie Clay of Philadelphia, Miss.; a sister, Edith Edwards of Rolla; 12 grandchildren; and 17 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by a son, daughter, four brothers and three sisters.
Friends may call at Chiles-Cooper Funeral Home in Bloomfield from 5-8 p.m. Wednesday.
Funeral service will be at 1 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home, with the Rev. Gerald King officiating. Burial will be in Hills Cemetery.
