Joyce Margaret Logue, 95, of Jackson, formerly of Independence, Missouri, passed away Tuesday, Jan. 25, 2022, at Lutheran Home in Cape Girardeau.
She was born June 6, 1926, in Arlington, Minnesota, to Walter and Grace Beehner Bucholz. She and Jerry D. Logue were married Dec. 1, 1946, in Sacramento, California. They had been married 34 years, when Jerry passed away in January 1981.
Joyce's childhood was spent in Lead, South Dakota. Her family later moved to California, where she met Jerry. They eventually settled in Independence and raised three children.
Joyce was a member of St. Mary Catholic Church in Independence for more than 50 years. Joyce had a love of music. She enjoyed playing the piano and playing in the bell choir at church. She was also an avid bowler, loved to line dance with the Dancing Queens and faithfully volunteered at Centerpoint Medical Center and her church.
In 2011, Joyce moved to Jackson, where she enjoyed attending exercise classes at Jackson Senior Center. The past few years, she made many new friends while living at the Villas of Jackson.
Loving survivors include two sons, Bruce (Catherine) Logue of Houston and Darryl (Delaine) Logue of Raytown, Missouri; a daughter, Christina (Thomas) Ludwig of Jackson; and four grandchildren, Matthew (Amy) Ludwig of Cape Girardeau, Sarah (Michael) Risch and children, Luna and Elena of Sylva, North Carolina, Erin Logue and husband, Edward Kiaune, of Austin, Texas, and Jerrad Logue of Fort Worth, Texas.
Joyce was preceded in death by her husband; parents; sister, Jeannine; and dear friend, Max Hayden.
Arrangements are as follows at Newcomer's Noland Road Chapel, 509 S. Noland Road, Independence, MO 64050:
Visitation will be from noon to 1:30 p.m. Tuesday with recitation of the rosary at 1:30 p.m.
The Rev. Matthew Bartulica will conduct a graveside service at 2:30 p.m. at Mount Olivet Cemetery in Raytown.
