Funeral for Joyce M. Godwin of Cape Girardeau will be held at 1:30 p.m. Sunday at Ford and Sons Sprigg Street Chapel. The Rev. Roger Christiansen will officiate. Burial will be in Lorimier Cemetery.

Friends may call at the chapel from 4-8 p.m. today.

Godwin, 63, died Thursday, March 23, 2000, at St. Francis Medical Center.

She was born March 11, 1937, at Blodgett, daughter of Eugene Wilson "Gene" and Mildred Mabel Angle Emmons. She and Bill L. Godwin were married Nov. 27, 1954, in Hernando, Miss.

Godwin was a member of First Church of God, River City Workers of the Blind, Missouri Council of the Blind, Braille Rival League, Bible Study Fellowship, president of Missouri Library User and American Council of the Blind.

Survivors include her husband; a son, Billy Godwin of Cape Girardeau; a daughter, Vicki Lohrstorfer of Alamo, Tenn.; and her father of Cape Girardeau.

Also surviving are four brothers, Colin "Mick", Donald and Stanley Emmons of Cape Girardeau, Rudy Emmons of Jackson; three sisters, Deborah Fisher of Lakeland, Fla., Delois Niswonger and Mary Emmons of Cape Girardeau; seven grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her mother and three brothers.
