Joshua Curtis Lemons, 22, of Cape Girardeau died Friday, April 18, 2003, as a result of an automobile accident in Bollinger County. Joshua Curtis Lemons, 22, of Cape Girardeau died Friday, April 18, 2003, as a result of an automobile accident in Bollinger County.

He was born Aug. 2, 1980, in Cape Girardeau, son of Curtis and Kim Hawn Lemons.

Joshua was a 1998 graduate of Woodland High School. He was a senior at Southeast Missouri State University majoring in business, and was to graduate May 17.

He played baseball and basketball in high school, was senior class president, prom king, and was voted most likeable his senior year. He was an avid hunter, fisherman and outdoorsman.

Joshua worked at Lemons Coin Machines since he was old enough to push a broom. He was a member of Lynwood Baptist Church and attended First Cape Assembly Church.

Survivors include his mother and stepfather, Kim and David Patrick of Cape Girardeau; his father, Curtis Lemons of Murfreesboro, Tenn.; a half brother, Erik Lemons of Anna, Ill.; stepbrothers and sister, Jeremy, Ben and Magin Patrick of Cape Girardeau; grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Charles Hawn, Mr. and Mrs. Truman Lemons and Mr. and Mrs. Pat Patrick, all of Cape Girardeau; great-grandparents, Ethel Lemons of Zalma, Mo., Earle and Wanda Searcy of Gordonville.

Also surviving are aunts and uncles, Rick and Pam Bandermann of Cape Girardeau, Val and Soni Crader of Burfordville, Tim and Carolyn Young of Cape Girardeau, Don and Jayne Sides of Colorado Springs, Colo., and Monty and Lesa Gilbert of Paducah, Ky.

He was preceded in death by a sister, Keri Lemons, and a half brother, Brandon Lemons.

Friends may call at Ford and Sons Mount Auburn Funeral Home from 4 to 8 p.m. Sunday.

The funeral will be at 11 a.m. Monday at the funeral home, with the Rev. Gary Brothers officiating. Burial will be in Cape County Memorial Park.

Pallbearers will be Jared Roberts, Ben Patrick, Lucas Lemons, Jason Bandermann, Ryan Bandermann, Jeremy Patrick, Jake Randol and Corey Yount.

Honorary pallbearers will be Kyle Bandermann, Adam Baker, Eric Lemons, Luke Crader, Erik Lemons, Matt Crader, Zach Crader, Mollie Crader and Ben Vance.

Memorial contributions may be made to Joshua Lemons Southeast Missouri State University Scholarship to a Woodland High School Student.
