Joseph Lee Whiteside, 63, of Cape Girardeau, died Sunday, July 14, 1996, at Frederick Street Manor.
He was born Nov. 14, 1932, in Sikeston, son of Cecil Orvil and Belma Bradley Whiteside.
Whiteside was a graduate of Gray Ridge High School, and attended Cape Business College. He had been a layout manager with Sears, Roebuck Catalog Department in Chicago, and was an insurance salesman in Peoria, Ill.
Survivors include three brothers, Oren Whiteside of Sikeston, John Whiteside of Evansville, Ind., Charles Whiteside of Westminster, Calif.; three sisters, Virginia Boardman of Delano, Calif., Ruth Hice of London, Ark., and Emma McCoy of Sikeston.
He was preceded in death by two brothers.
Friends may call at Nunnelee Funeral Chapel in Sikeston from 5-8 p.m. today.
Funeral service will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday at the chapel, with the Rev. Larry Rouse officiating. Burial will be in Oak Grove Cemetery at Charleston.
