PERRYVILLE -- Joseph W. Spangler, 90, of Perryville died Thursday, July 30, 1998, at Perry County Nursing Home. He was born Sept. 2, 1907, in Oquawka, Ill., son of Jacob and Mary Spangler. PERRYVILLE -- Joseph W. Spangler, 90, of Perryville died Thursday, July 30, 1998, at Perry County Nursing Home.

He was born Sept. 2, 1907, in Oquawka, Ill., son of Jacob and Mary Spangler. He married Agnes Reynolds, who died April 4, 1991.

Spangler had been a painter and home decorator. He served in the U.S. Army during World War II.

Survivors include two stepchildren, Pat Dillbeck and Darlene Williams of Muscatine, Iowa; 15 grandchildren; and 12 great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by a son, stepson, brother and sister.

Private burial will be held at Jefferson Barracks National Cemetery in St. Louis.

Young and Sons Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
