GLEN ALLEN, Mo. -- Funeral for Joseph Anthony Reilly of Glen Allen will be held at 10 a.m. today at St. John's Catholic Church in Leopold, Mo. The Rev. Bill Huggins will officiate. Burial will be in St. John's Cemetery.

Reilly, 94, died Monday, June 18, 2001, at St. Francis Medical Center in Cape Girardeau.

He was born Oct. 20, 1906, in Paragould, Ark., son of Joseph William and Maud McAnally Reilly. He and Blanche M. Myers were married Feb. 24, 1933, at Leopold.

Reilly was a 1925 graduate of Lutesville High School and attended Will Mayfield College.

He had been a teacher at Cane Creek, Club Creek, and Opossum Creek schools. He was a surveyor apprentice with his father eight years and then became a registered surveyor. He was a substitute rural mail carrier from 1941 to 1974. He was an elected county official and served as Bollinger County surveyor from 1952 to 1976.

Reilly was a member of St. John's Catholic Church, helped organize Farm Bureau Service Co. in 1947, was secretary of Farm Bureau's first board of directors, and was a member of Lutesville School Board during the 1950s.

Survivors include his wife; a son, John Reilly of Marble Hill, Mo.; a daughter, Margaret Purcell of Jefferson City, Mo.; a sister, Mary Reilly of Marble Hill; four grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; three stepgrandchildren; and 14 great-stepgrandchildren.

He was preceded in death by a sister and a brother.
