Joseph Harding Kipping, 78, of Clearwater, Fla., died Saturday, Oct. 24, 1998, at Integrated Health Services of Florida in Clearwater.
He was born Oct. 22, 1920, in Cape Girardeau, son of Johann Wilhelm Albert and Clara Ida Birk Kipping.
Kipping had been an electrical engineer. He was a major in the U.S. Air Force during World War II, serving from 1939-59.
Survivors include three sons, Douglas Kipping of Paul Smith, N.Y., James Kipping of Clearwater, Robert Kipping of St. Petersburg, Fla.; two daughters, Camie Bishop of Sandy, Utah, Heather Harfosh of Fayetteville, N.Y.; a stepson, Steven Carson of E. Syracuse, N.Y.; two stepdaughters, Barbara Guami of Syracuse, N.Y., Patricia Baggette of Mt. Dora, Fla.; a sister, Evelyn Hopper of Cape Girardeau; 14 grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by two sisters.
Friends may call at Ford and Sons Mt. Auburn Chapel Thursday from 10-11:45 a.m.
Graveside service will be at noon Thursday at Memorial Park, with rites by VFW Post 3838.
