CHAFFEE -- Joseph Edward Barnes, 64, of Dania, Fla., died Wednesday, Feb. 9, 1994, at the Veterans Medical Center in Miami, Fla.
He was born Dec. 15, 1929, in Perry County, son of James Artie and Alice Barbara Schneier Barnes.
Barnes was a salesman with Monsanto in St. Louis, retiring five years ago. He served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War.
Survivors include two sons, Robert Barnes of St. Louis, James Barnes of Topeka, Kan.; a stepdaughter, Cheryl Reese of St. Louis; his mother of Chaffee; two sisters, Martha Lovelace of Festus, and Mary Staples of Lady Lake, Fla.
Funeral service will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at St. Ambrose Catholic Church. The Rev. Allan Saunders will officiate, with burial in the church cemetery.
Friends may call at Amick-Burnett Funeral Home in Chaffee after 5 p.m. Friday. Parish prayers will be at 7:30.
