PERRYVILLE, Mo. -- Joseph A. Bahr, 68, of Perryville, died Wednesday, Oct. 31, 2018, at Saint Francis Medical Center in Cape Girardeau. He was born July 24, 1950, in Ste. PERRYVILLE, Mo. -- Joseph A. Bahr, 68, of Perryville, died Wednesday, Oct. 31, 2018, at Saint Francis Medical Center in Cape Girardeau.

He was born July 24, 1950, in Ste. Genevieve, Missouri, son of Bennie E. and Rosemary Manning Bahr. He and Brenda Adams were married Aug. 12, 1972. She survives in Perryville.

Joseph was a manager at Roziers Meat Market in Perryville. He was a member of St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church, Knights of Columbus Honory Fourth Degree, American Legion Booster, Veterans of Foreign Wars, Perry County Saddle Club and Royal Order of Fleas. He was a wonderful husband, father, grandpa and friend who had a huge heart and looked out for those he cared for. He loved fishing and spending time with his family, cooking, riding horses, making wine and gardening. One of Joe's favorite pastimes was gathering pecans and sharing them with his friends and family.

Special recognition to the George W. and Frieda Kirn family for their love and guidance through the years.

Survivors include two sons, Nathan Bahr and special friend Kim Britton of Jackson and Adam and (Michell) Bahr; two grandchildren, Owen and Olivia Bahr all of Cape Girardeau; and four sisters and two brothers, Donna Guemmer, William Bahr, Betty Hudson, Mary Zahner, Emil Bahr and Marion Bahr.

He was preceded in death by his parents and one brother, Jerry

Private services were held for the family.

Memorials are preferred to the Rosary Walk at the Shrine.

Young and Sons Funeral Home Inc. in Perryville, MO provided the arrangements.
