JONAS W. SITZ

DEXTER -- Jonas W. Sitz, 90, of Dexter died Saturday, Nov. 25, 1995, at the Vintage Villa Nursing Center.

He was born June 2, 1905, at Leora, son of Marcus G. and Mary Francis Carter Sitz. He and Varnell Doan were married July 13, 1951, at Piggott, Ark. She preceded him in death March 18, 1983.

Sitz lived in Dexter for many years and worked at the Dexter High School during World War II. He also was employed by General Motors in St. Louis as the lead mechanic for 22 years. He was a member of the First General Baptist Church in Bloomfield.

Survivors included a stepdaughter, LaVerne MacDonald of St. Louis and a step-granddaughter, Robyn Kestler of Crestwood.

He was preceded in death by six brothers and a sister.

Friends may call at the Watkins and Sons Funeral Home in Dexter after 10 a.m. today.

Funeral service will be at 2:30 p.m. today at the funeral home. The Rev. Kevin Eskew will officiate, with burial at Hagy Cemetery in Dexter.
