WOLF LAKE, Ill. -- Johnny W. Wilson, 70, of Wolf Lake died Saturday, Nov. 18, 1995, at Memorial Hospital in Belleville, Ill.
He was born June 16, 1925, at Wolf Lake, son of Walter and Verna Rhodes Wilson. He and Mary Ellen Knupp were married Sept. 27, 1945, at Jackson.
Wilson was a barber in Wolf Lake from 1945 to 1962. He served as a Union County commissioner from 1969 to 1972 and also worked as a driver's license examiner from 1953 to 1984. He was an independent insurance agent for 35 years before retiring in 1990. Wilson was a member of the Wolf Lake United Methodist Church.
Survivors include his wife; a son, John W. Wilson of Wolf Lake; a daughter, Lisa Mosby of McClure, Ill.; a brother, Eddie Wilson of Belleville, Ill.; a sister, Shirley Penrod and stepmother, Clara Hellman, both of Oklahoma City; and three grandchildren.
Friends may call at Hileman and Parr Funeral home from 4 to 8 p.m. today.
Funeral service will be at 1 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral chapel. The Rev. John Prather will officiate, with burial in Jonesboro Cemetery.
