Johnny Wayne Self, 58, of Randles died Tuesday, Feb. 22, 2011, at Saint Francis Medical Center in Cape Girardeau.

He was born April 15, 1952, in Cape Girardeau, son of Charles Wayne Self.

Johnny served in the Army during the Vietnam War. He received the National Defense Service Medal, Overseas Service Bar, Vietnam Campaign Medal and Vietnam Service Medal with Campaign Star.

He was a truck driver.

Survivors include a son, Wayne Berry (Debra) of Randles; two daughters, Joni Self (Chad Woollums) of Cape Girardeau, Jennifer Brawley (Greg) of Whitewater; two sisters, Mary Sample and Clara Schafer of Cape Girardeau; seven grandchildren, Emma Self, James Woollums, Kaylee Woollums, Chad Woollums Jr., Gregory Brawley, David Brawley, Joey Barlow.

He was preceded in death by his father.

Friends may call from 11 a.m. to noon Friday at Ford and Sons Mount Auburn Funeral Home in Cape Girardeau.

Graveside service will be at 1 p.m. Friday at Missouri State Veterans Cemetery in Bloomfield, with Kenny Shoemaker officiating. Graveside military rites will be provided by Missouri Honors Team.
