PUXICO, Mo. -- Johnnie Atchison, 78, of Puxico died Wednesday, Oct. 25, 2000, at Dexter Memorial Hospital in Dexter, Mo.
He was born Dec. 19, 1921, at Kinder, Mo., son of John and Myrtle Hill Atchison. He and Louise Murphey were married March 23, 1946, in Puxico. She died Nov. 30, 1996.
Atchison lived in Dupo, Ill., until moving back to Puxico in 1998. He was a self-employed carpenter and siding installer. He was a member of Brown General Baptist Church and life member of Puxico VFW Post.
Survivors include a brother, Charles Burns of Puxico; a sister, Sadie Buttry of St. Louis; and a granddaughter.
He was preceded in death by a daughter, two brothers and a sister.
Friends may call at Watkins and Sons Funeral Home in Puxico after 6 p.m. today.
Funeral will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at Brown General Baptist Church, with the Rev. Ray Placher and Johnny Buttry officiating. Burial will be in Brown Cemetery near Puxico.
