SIKESTON, Mo. -- John Waldron, 72, of Hardin, Ky., died Friday, Feb. 28, 2003, at Murray Calloway County Medical Center in Murray, Ky. SIKESTON, Mo. -- John Waldron, 72, of Hardin, Ky., died Friday, Feb. 28, 2003, at Murray Calloway County Medical Center in Murray, Ky.

He was born March 2, 1930, in Pocahontas, Ark., son of Marvin and Tula Caldwell Waldron. He and Billie Jean Larker were married Nov. 19, 1950. She died Nov. 4, 2002.

Waldron owned and operated Waldron Roofing prior to retiring. Formerly of Sikeston, he was a member of Murray Lane Baptist Church and Henry Meldrum American Legion Post 114 in Sikeston.

He served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War.

Survivors include two sons, John Waldron Jr. of Boise, Idaho, Garry Waldron of Greenback, Tenn.; a daughter, Linda Waldron of Almo, Ky.; a sister, Marvalee Waldron of St. Louis; six grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.

Friends may call at Ponder Funeral Home in Sikeston from 5 to 8 p.m. today.

The funeral will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday at the funeral home, with the Rev. Brett Miles officiating. Burial will be in Sikeston Garden of Memories Cemetery.
