JOHN W. RICHARD

PUXICO -- John William Richard, 84, of Asherville, died Monday, April 10, 1995, at Lucy Lee Hospital in Poplar Bluff.

He was born June 10, 1910, at Dale (Hodges Ferry), son of Plaz and Effie May Lacewell Richard. He and Eva Duren were married Dec. 2, 1933, at Puxico.

Richard was a retired grain and livestock farmer, and member of Pleasant Valley General Baptist Church.

Survivors include his wife; three sons, Bill Richard of Puxico, Jerry Richard of Wappapello, Gary Richard of Poplar Bluff; a sister, Ruby Page of Illinois; three grandchildren, and three great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by three children and two sisters.

Friends may call at Watkins and Sons Funeral Home in Puxico after 6 p.m. today.

Funeral service will be at 10 a.m. Thursday at the funeral home, with the Rev. Rowland Duckett officiating. Burial will be in Pleasant Grove Cemetery near Puxico.
