JACKSON -- John Thomas Strickland, 80 years old, of Jackson Route 1, died Saturday, March 30, 1991, at Southeast Missouri Hospital. He was born Nov. 20, 1910 in Mississippi County, son of Van and Willie Anderson Strickland. JACKSON -- John Thomas Strickland, 80 years old, of Jackson Route 1, died Saturday, March 30, 1991, at Southeast Missouri Hospital.

He was born Nov. 20, 1910 in Mississippi County, son of Van and Willie Anderson Strickland.

He is survived by two brothers, Van Strickland, Sikeston, and Marion Strickland, Florissant; and two sister-in-laws, Mrs. Jack Strickland of Jackson Route 1, and Ann Strickland, Bertrand.

He moved to the Jackson area in 1946 and lived with his brother, Jack, who preceded him in death one week ago.

He was engaged in livestock and general farming. He was a member of the Methodist denomination.

Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. Monday at Cracraft-Miller Funeral Home.

Funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home with the Rev. Tom Geers of the Trinity Baptist Church in Sikeston officiating. Burial will be in Armer Cemetery near Bertrand.
