OKLAHOMA CITY -- John Thomas Stephens received his Heavenly reward Thursday, Aug. 20, 2020, in Oklahoma City.
He was born Sept. 20, 1937, in Cape Girardeau and graduated from Illmo-Fornfelt High School in 1956. He served in the Army from 1956 to 1959. He had a career in the lumber business from 1959 to 2015.
He is survived by his wife, Brenda of Moore, Oklahoma; children, Tom (Cindy) Stephens of Moore, Valerie (Kyle) Godsey of Bridge Creek, Oklahoma, and Megan (Kyle) McGregor of Austin, Texas; grandchildren, Andrew (Cori) Stephens, Matthew (Riley) Stephens and Tanner (fiance Holly Taylor) Godsey, all of Oklahoma; and great-grandchildren, Jamey, Ashlyn and Maverick Stephens. He is also survived by a sister, Barbara Barks of Jackson; seven nieces; four nephews; and many great-nieces and -nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, four brothers, one grandson and one nephew.
Visitation will be from 6 to 8:30 p.m. today at John Ireland Funeral Home, 120 S. Broadway, Moore, OK.
Celebration of his life will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday at Crossroads Church Chapel, 8901 S. Shields Blvd., Oklahoma City.
