John E. Simpher, 62, of Cape Girardeau died Monday, July 29, 2013, at Saint Francis Medical Center.
He was born March 24, 1951, in Cape Girardeau, to Edward V. and Geneva Gibson Simpher.
John had been a medical technician and also a visiting nurse.
Survivors include a sister, Linda Coomer of Chaffee, Mo.; and two nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents.
A graveside service will be at 3 p.m. Friday at Cape County Memorial Park, with the Rev. Jeff Long officiating.
Ford and Sons Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
