John Ralph Roe, 65, of Jackson died Thursday, Sept. 18, 2014, at Southeast Hospital in Cape Girardeau.
Born in rural Ancell in Scott County, the son of the late Raymond R. and Ruth L. Pippin Roe.
John graduated from Woodland High School in 1967. He served nine years in the United States Air Force before graduating from Southeast Missouri State University. He worked for the Missouri Division of Family Services in Kansas City, Missouri, until retirement.
He is survived by two brothers, Jerry (Mary) Roe of Cape Girardeau and Donald (Nanette) Roe of Flint, Texas; and five sisters, Judy (Ron) Poe and Wanda (David) Keesee, both of Cape Girardeau, Bertha Foster and Nelda (Ward) Ireland, both of Jackson, and Brenda (Terry) Surwillo of Fenton, Missouri.
Visitation will be from 1 to 2 p.m. today at Hutchings Funeral Chapel in Marble Hill, Missouri.
The funeral will be at 2 p.m. today at the chapel, with the Rev. Bob Robbins officiating. Burial with military honors will be in Grassy Friendship Cemetery at Grassy, Missouri.
