JONESBORO, Ill. -- John R. Reynolds, 79, of Jonesboro died Monday, Dec. 16, 1996. He was born July 19, 1917, in Reynoldsville, the son of John and Eleanore Elizabeth Reynolds. He married Carra L. Cooper on Jan. 24, 1954, in Ware, and she preceded him in death on July 31, 1974...

JONESBORO, Ill. -- John R. Reynolds, 79, of Jonesboro died Monday, Dec. 16, 1996.

He was born July 19, 1917, in Reynoldsville, the son of John and Eleanore Elizabeth Reynolds. He married Carra L. Cooper on Jan. 24, 1954, in Ware, and she preceded him in death on July 31, 1974.

Reynolds was a retired truck driver and member of the Teamsters in Harrisburg. He attended the Reynoldsville Baptist Church.

Survivors include one sister, Elnora Walker of Jonesboro; two half-brothers, Jack Reynolds of Jonesboro and Walter Reynolds of Cape Girardeau, Mo.; and his stepmother, Viola Reynolds of Reynoldsville.

Friends may call from 5-8 p.m. today at Hileman & Parr Funeral Services in Jonesboro.

The funeral service will be at 1 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home. Burial will follow in Jonesboro Cemetery.
