PYLETOWN, Mo. -- Elvin John Putnam, 86, of Pyletown, Mo., died Sunday, March 18, 2001, at Mulberry Manor in Dexter.
He was born Feb. 16, 1915, at Pyletown, son of John S. and Aura Poundstone Putnam. He and Cora Mae Perry were married Aug. 15, 1934, at Bernie, Mo.
Putnam was a retired farmer. He was a member of Pleasant Grove Community Church.
Survivors include his wife; a daughter, Rosa Lee Bell of Greensboro, N.C.; eight grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by a son, a grandson, three brothers and five sisters.
Friends may call at Rainey Funeral Home in Dexter from 5-8 p.m. today.
Funeral will be at noon Wednesday, with the Rev. Wayne Dismuke officiating. Burial will be in Chalk Bluff Cemetery.
