JACKSON -- John M.C. Kasten, 92, Jackson Route 2, died Tuesday, April 20, 1993, at Southeast Missouri Hospital.
He was born May 4, 1900, in Cape Girardeau County, son of Rudolph and Augusta Bingenheimer Kasten. He and Ardena Lowes were married July 29, 1923, in Cape Girardeau. She died May 24, 1985.
Kasten and his brothers took over Kasten Brothers Brick Co. in 1927 from their father. He retired in 1959. Kasten also had farming interests in Jackson a number of years. He was a lifelong member of St. Paul Lutheran Church, member of its Men's Club, and served on numerous church boards.
Survivors include three sons, Dr. Melvin C. Kasten of Cape Girardeau, R.C. and John D. Kasten of Jackson; 10 grandchildren, and eight great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by a son, three brothers and two sisters.
Funeral service will be at 10 a.m. Friday at McCombs Funeral Chapel. The Rev. Lawrence Eather- ton will officiate, with burial in Russell Heights Cemetery.
Friends may call at the funeral home from 5-8 p.m. Thursday.
