ROCKVIEW -- Funeral for John Benton Long of Rockview will be held at 10:30 a.m. Saturday at Amick-Burnett Funeral Chapel in Chaffee. The Rev. Nancy Woods will officiate. Burial will be in Pulliam Cemetery near Scopus.

Friends may call at the chapel after 4 p.m. today.

Long, 76, died Tuesday, Feb. 8, 2000, at Southeast Missouri Hospital in Cape Girardeau.

He was born Oct. 16, 1923, at Scopus, son of Edd and Hanna Hanners Long. He and Ruth Crumbaugh were married Dec. 9, 1944.

Long retired as lead carman with Burlington-Northern Railway Co. in Chaffee. He was a member of Grace Methodist Church and Promise Keepers.

Survivors include his wife; two sons, Wayne Long of Texas, James Long of Cape Girardeau; three grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by a brother.
