John A. Lesar Sr., 90, of Cape Girardeau died Tuesday, Aug. 27, 2024, at Saint Francis Medical Center.
He was born May 21, 1934, in Thebes, Illinois, to Merle and Thelma Durham Lesar.
He and Ina Sue Parmer were married Aug. 26, 1955, in Cairo, Illinois. She preceded him in death Sept. 7, 1995.
John was a member of Mason Caladonia Lodge No. 47.
He was a longtime employee of Jerry Lipps Trucking.
Survivors include a very special friend, Barbara Wishart of Cape Girardeau; two sons, John A. (Darletha) Lesar Jr. of Granite City, Illinois, and Brian Scott (Phyllis) Lesar of Biloxi, Mississippi; two daughters, Shelia Dodson of Thebes and Trina (Larry) Jones of Tamms, Illinois; two stepdaughters, Kristen (James) Sanders of Scott City and Jenna (Shannon) McIntosh of Chaffee; 15 grandchildren, 32 great-grandchildren; and seven great-great-grandchildren.
John was preceded in death by his parents; wife; two sons, Billy and Timothy Lesar; and one great-grandson, Greyson Jones.
Visitation will be from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 31, at Ford and Sons Mount Auburn Funeral Home in Cape Girardeau.
Funeral will follow at 1 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 31, at the funeral home, with Pastor Sam Ramdial officiating. Burial will be at Rose Hill Cemetery in Thebes.
