JOHN LEE MORGAN

BERTRAND, Mo. - John Lee Morgan, 63, of Bertrand, died Saturday, May 8, 1993, at the Charleston Manor in Charleston.

He was born Nov. 7, 1929, in St. Louis, to Harry and Le Mae Stoefiel Morgan.

On July 9, 1954, he married Marian Adele Pilgrim, who preceded him in death on Dec. 17, 1992.

Survivors include one daughter, Jean Morgan of St. Louis; three brothers, Irvin Morgan of Washington, George Morgan of Henderson, Nev., and James B. Morgan of St. Louis; one sister, Virginia Kraus of Hillsboro. He was preceded in death by one son, John Lee Morgan, Jr., and one brother.

Morgan lived in Mississippi County for the past eleven years, and served as a Mississippi County deputy sheriff for eight years before retiring in December 1992. He was a member of the Cornerstone General Baptist Church in Bertrand.

Friends may call from 5-8 p.m., Monday, at the McMikle Funeral Home in Charleston. Funeral services will be conducted at 11 a.m., Tuesday, with the Rev. Charles Kohlbaker officiating. Burial will be in the St. Lucas Cemetery in St. Louis.
