SIKESTON, Mo. -- John Peter Jacob, 76, of Sikeston, died Saturday, Feb. 22, 2003, at Missouri Delta Medical Center in Sikeston.

He was born Jan. 17, 1927, in Buffalo, N.Y., son of John and Anna Zimmerman Jacob. He and Arletta Russell were married May 21, 1955, in Franklin Park, Ill.

He had been a barber in the Chicago area and owned and operated John's Barber Shop in Sikeston.

Survivors include his wife; two stepdaughters, Janice Murphy and Marilyn Deason of Sikeston; a brother, Lawerence Jacob of Franklin Park,; and three stepgrandsons.

Graveside service will be at 1 p.m. Tuesday at I.O.O.F. Cemetery in Charleston, Mo. Nunnelee Funeral Chapel in Sikeston is in charge of arrangements.
