John C. Horrell, 75, of Jackson passed away Saturday, Oct. 17, 2009, at Southeast Missouri Hospital in Cape Girardeau.
He was born June 27, 1934, in Jackson, son of John C. and Francis Lorene Koehler Horrell. He married Bertha Elizabeth Green Dec. 30, 1961.
John was a member of Immaculate Conception Catholic Church and Bishop Timon Knights of Columbus Council 6405 in Jackson. He was a plastics inspector many years at the former Lenco Inc. in Jackson, retiring in 1989.
Loving survivors include his wife of 48 years, Elizabeth; two sons, Mark (Pam) Horrell of Carthage, Mo., Brian (Jennifer) Horrell of Jackson; a daughter, Patty (Shannon) Mungle of Cape Girardeau; two brothers, Pat (Judy) Horrell and Jim (Karen) Horrell of Jackson; five grandchildren, Mark (Shawnda) Horrell Jr., Amy Brouillard, Amanda Horrell, Zach Wilson and Jamie (Adam) Childers; two great-grandchildren; four stepgrandchildren, and 10 great-stepgrandchildren.
John was preceded in death by his parents and a sister, Mary Kluesner.
Friends may call from 5 to 8 p.m. today at McCombs Funeral Home in Jackson. Parish prayers will be at 7, followed by the rosary.
Funeral Mass will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Jackson, with the Rev. John Harth officiating. Interment will follow in Russell Heights Cemetery.
