John was preceded in death by his beloved mother, Carol Abshire Hankins.

He is survived by long-term significant other, Edith "Edie" Flanigan, and children, Tanner Hankins and Madison "Madi" Hankins.
John was an active and cherished member of Sikeston Eagles and the Sikeston American Legion.
His celebration of life and legacy will take place tentatively at 3 p.m. June 14 at Sikeston Eagles.
