PERRYVILLE -- Funeral mass for John Henry Winschel of Perryville will be held at 10 a.m. Wednesday at St. Joseph Church in Apple Creek. The Rev. Norbert Ernst will officiate, with burial in the church cemetery.
Friends may call at Drayton Funeral Home after 4 p.m. today. A wake will be held at 7.
Winschel, 91 years old, died Sunday, April 21, 1991, at his home.
He was born Aug. 14, 1899, in Perry County, son of Andrew and Clara Wibbenmeyer Winschel. He and the former Regina Amschler were married May 1, 1928, at Apple Creek. She died May 19, 1950.
Winschel was a retired farmer, and member of St. Joseph Church.
Survivors include three sons, Herbert Winschel of Old Appleton, Elliott Winschel of Biehle, Patrick Winschel of Perryville; four daughters, Rita Moll, Celestine Moll and Dolores Berkbuegler of Perryville, Natalie Helfer of St. Peters; a brother, Clemens Winschel of Afton; four sisters, Angela Shelton, Juliette Glastetter and Colette Ernst of St. Louis, Hilda Glastetter of Cape; 36 grandchildren, and 25 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by two brothers, two sisters and four grandchildren.
