JACKSON -- John William Golden, 71, of Jackson died Saturday, July 18, 1998, at St. Francis Medical Center in Cape Girardeau.
He was born Aug. 22, 1926, at St. Joseph, son of John William and Mary Clara Lager Golden.
He and Jean Hendrickson were married on Feb. 8, 1986.
He worked for ABF Trucking until his retirement in 1986. He served in the Pacific Theater during World War II.
He was a member of Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Jackson and a Fourth Degree Knights of Columbus. He was a member of Althenthal Joerns Post 158 of the American Legion and of the Veteran of Foreign Wars in Jackson.
Survivors include his wife; three daughters, Tina Louise Smith of Montgomery City and Barbara Ann Robinson, Patricia Lynn Howard and Karen Jean Drury, all of San Antonio, Texas; two brothers, Vincent Golden of Florida and Gerald Golden of Corning; three sisters, Loraine Willens and Rita Banlowe, both of Kansas City, and JoAnn Lizer of Smithville; eight grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
Friends may call at Cracraft-Miller Funeral Home in Jackson from 4 to 8 p.m. today, with an American Legion Honor Guard service at 7 and parish prayers at 7:30.
Rosary will be said at the funeral home at 9 a.m. Tuesday.
Funeral Mass will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church. Monsignor Edward Eftink will officiate, with burial at Russell Heights Cemetery in Jackson.
