GALLATIN, Mo. -- John Michael Gibbar, 82, of Commerce, Mo., and most recently Gallatin, died Wednesday, Dec. 8, 2010.

He was born May 11, 1928, at Lithium, Mo., son of James Lemie and Lorene Henderson Gibbar. He was married to Betty Vincent Gibbar on Sept. 23, 1950, in Piggott, Ark.

Survivors include his son and daughter-in-law, Michael and Majiel Gibbar of Gallatin; a daughter and son-in-law, Leatha and Roger Morgan of Mancos, Colo.; three half brothers, Kenny, Ray and Leon Gibbar, all of Cape Girardeau; one half sister, Delores Gibbar of Cape Girardeau; a stepsister, Mary Lou Swan of Cape Girardeau; two grandsons, Anthony Morgan of Mancos and Edward and granddaughter-in-law Lacey Morgan of Chaffee, Mo; two great-grandchildren, Ezekiel and Hailey Morgan; and many nieces, nephews and cousins.

Visitation will be held from 6 to 8 p.m. today at Amick-Burnett Funeral Chapel in Scott City.

The funeral will be 1 p.m. Monday at the chapel, with the Rev. Terry Wolfe officiating.

Burial will be in Forest Hills Memorial Gardens at Morley, Mo.
