John W. "Johnny Bill" Farrow, 75, of Pocahontas passed away Tuesday, Jan. 27, 2015, at Saint Francis Medical Center in Cape Girardeau.
He was born Oct. 12, 1939, in Leemon, Missouri, son of Clyde and Lena Mae Littleton Farrow. He and Fannie B. Abernathy were married April 19, 1957.
John was a longtime member of New Bethel Baptist Church in Pocahontas, and was a very faithful witness. He lived for the Lord and to share the Gospel. He was a lifelong worker in the timber industry, and an avid outdoorsman and St. Louis Cardinals fan.
In addition to his loving wife of 57 years, survivors include five children, Ted (Earlene) Farrow, Judy (Rick) Lunsford and Don (Sandy) Farrow, all of Pocahontas, Joane (Darren) Whitledge of Fruitland and Greg (Rhonda) Farrow of Jackson; and a daughter-in-law, Cheryl (the late Ron) Farrow of Jackson.
Also 19 grandchildren, Jamie, Brandy, Joe Daniel, Josh, Casey, Madison, Bailey, Johnny, Justin, Jacob, Kayla, Kami, Hannah, Brooke, Dylan, Brady, Lucas, Maegen and Cole; five great-grandchildren, Blaine, Anna Lynn, Braelynn, Owen and Auburn; a brother, Larry Wayne Farrow of Cape Girardeau; a sister, Sue Busche of Cape Girardeau; and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; two sons, Ron Farrow in 2004 and David Farrow in 2001; and two brothers, Donald and Richard Farrow.
Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. today at the chapel of McCombs Funeral Home and Cremation Center in Jackson, and from 10 a.m. until service time Friday at New Bethel Church.
The funeral will be at 11 a.m. Friday at the church, with the Rev. Ken Grant officiating. Interment will be in New Bethel Cemetery in Pocahontas.
Memorials may take the form of contributions to New Bethel Baptist Church Cemetery Fund.
