CAIRO, Ill. -- John Farmer, 94, of Cairo, died Wednesday, Feb. 24, 1993, at St. Francis Medical Center in Cape Girardeau, Mo. CAIRO, Ill. -- John Farmer, 94, of Cairo, died Wednesday, Feb. 24, 1993, at St. Francis Medical Center in Cape Girardeau, Mo.

He was born Nov. 17, 1898, in Carlisle County, Ky., son of Milton and Suzie Farmer.

Farmer was a retired construction worker and farmer, and attended the Assembly of God Church here.

Survivors include a daughter, Jean Bright of Cairo; a granddaughter, and a great-grandson.

Funeral service will be at 1 p.m. Friday at Barkett Funeral Chapel in Cairo. The Rev. Wilma Williams will officiate, with burial in Old Mayfield Creek Cemetery near Bardwell, Ky.

Friends may call at the funeral home after 5 p.m. today.
