ADVANCE, Mo. -- John G. Cockrell, 93, of Bell City, Mo., died Friday, Dec. 1, 2000, at the Beverly Health and Rehabilitation Center in Bloomfield, Mo.
He was born April 2, 1907, in Tennessee, son of William and Barbara Harrington Cockrell. He and Wilma Wheatley were married June 24, 1935, at Caruthersville, Mo. She died Aug. 21, 1995.
Cockrell was a retired farmer.
Survivors include four sons, Carl Cockrell and Richard Cockrell, both of Bell City, David Cockrell of Puxico, Mo., and Robert Cockrell of Glen Allen, Mo.; four daughters, Johnnie Latham of Aquilla, Mo., Wilda Ramsey of Innis, La., Betty Gardner of Dexter, Mo., and Wanda Cochran of Bloomfield; 20 grandchildren; and 33 great-grandchildren.
A daughter preceded him in death.
Friends may call at Morgan Funeral Chapel in Advance from 5-8 p.m. today.
Funeral will be at 11 a.m. Monday at the funeral chapel. Burial will be at the Puxico Cemetery.
